Westbound Highway 60 at Wilder detoured beginning Sept. 11 for repairs detoured beginning Sept. 11 for repairs

MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists traveling on westbound Highway 60 near Wilder should expect to be detoured beginning September 11 as crews work to repair a depression in the lanes.

Traffic will be detoured between Heron Lake and Windom via Jackson County Road 9, Cottonwood County Road 5 and Highway 62 until the project is complete mid-October.

The project includes re-grading the area of the depression in the westbound lanes and repaving.  The dip may be due to problems with remaining materials from the old road bed.  Moisture and frost heaves cause a severe bump, mainly in the spring that has continued to grow over the years.

Mathiowetz Construction Company of Sleepy Eye was awarded the contract with a bid of $394,624.
