Golfers compete under cold conditions

The Adrian girls and boys golf teams hosted SWC-E and HLO on Thursday, April 27th.  Conditions for the meet were cold and windy, but improved as the meet went on.  The Lady Dragons came away with 2 wins on the day, while the boys earned a split.

The Adrian girls outshot their competitors with a team total of 216 which was their lowest team total of the season.  Medalist for the day was Adrian’s Alexia Kemper with a score of 45.  Annika Elias carded a 50, her lowest score of the season.  Gracia Elias (59) and Josi Altman (62) were the other 2 scorers for the Lady Dragons.

The Adrian boys shot a team score of 200 and defeated HLO (224), but lost to SWC-E (187).  The Dragons were led by Landon Runia’s round of 46 which tied Landon with 2 other golfers from SWC-E for the medalist honors.  Brady Henning and Mitchell Veld were close behind with rounds of 47 and tied for runner up position in the meet.  The boys team continues to struggle finding a consistent fourth scorer.  John Christians (60) finished out the team total for the Dragon boys.  Also competing on Thursday for the boys were:  Cole Weidert (64) and Blake Madison (65).

As the Dragon golfers head into May and tournament season, we continue to look for improvement and consistency in our games.  The Dragons will host HBC on Thursday, May 4th.  Next week the teams will travel to Westbrook and Fulda on Tuesday, May 9th for a girls and boys 18 hole invitational respectively.
