Jottings by Jerry – Jan 11

Sunday and Monday’s temperatures got into the high 20s which made it fun to be outside. It didn’t help with getting the ice off of the sidewalks and driveways tho. This week will be decent with only one day in the single digits. There’s been no shoveling, which is good for the back, this week, but I’m sure we’ll get our chance fairly soon. Tuesday brought some wintery mix which is never good for anyone walking or driving. It’s a good time to plan your winter vacation. Putting your S’s together is satisfying. I start with shorts, then add short sleeve shirts, and top it off with those short summer socks. Being packed for several weeks ahead of actual departing. Then the day before you pack, panic starts. All those things you can’t live without, get thrown in and they are seldom needed or used. But you got them.  So this ready to go luggage radiates a warm glow that is so useless. But I do it anyway.

Three drunk guys entered a taxi. The taxi driver knew that they were drunk so he started the engine and turned it off again. Then said, “We have reached your destination.” The first guy gave him money and the second guy said “Thank you”. The third guy slapped the driver. The driver was shocked thinking the third drunk knew what he did. But then he asked “What was that for?”. The third guy replied, “Control your speed next time, you nearly killed us!”
