Sunday, September 9th is the day you have been waiting for!  The St. Anthony Church will have their bazaar and auction.  On the menu for the second year is turkey & dressing including the “famous” candied carrots.  Games for the young and old include Pot O’Gold, Fish Pond, and Bingo. Many unique items will be raffled including theme baskets, John Deere paraphernalia, meat bundles, various services and blankets & quilts. Come spend the afternoon!

School started on Tuesday.  We need to be reminded about safe driving.   Please watch for students as they are walking as well as getting on and off the buses.  Remember that you need to stop when the bus has the stop sign out and the red lights flashing!  Let’s keep the kids safe!

Guests in the Mary Ann Loosbrock home this past weekend were Earl & Nancy Wolf, Sam, Bethy and Anna Wolf; Luke Wolf; Felicia Wolf; and Nick Wolf, all of the Metro-St. Paul area.  They came especially to attend the wedding of David Reisdorfer and Jensen Wolf at St. Adrian Catholic Church on Saturday.  Jensen is the daughter of Gerald and Kris (Loosbrock) Wolf of Spring Valley.  The Wolf’s also participated in the Wolf family Golf Tournament at the Adrian Country Club on Sunday.

Mike and Rhonda Kellen of Jordan, MN were Saturday overnight guests in the home of his parents, Jerry and Mary Kellen.

Jill Diekmann and Christine Bullerman of Adrian came out with top honors at the Decade Derby on Thursday, August 23rd at the Adrian Golf Course.   Congratulations, Ladies!

Congratulations to the new officers for the Lismore Council of Catholic Women: Jan Weidert as President; Roxanne Kemper as Vice President; Lisa Diekmann as Treasurer; and Brenda Lynn as Secretary.   Thank you to the outgoing officers of Laurie Wieneke and Ellen Henning.

Rick Lutmer of Omaha, NE was a weekend guest in the home of Frank and Debby Wieneke. On Saturday, he and Gary Lutmer of St. James, spent time helping Cody Lutmer and Bruce Lutmer on their respective home improvement projects.

Bruce Loosbrock attended the graveside services for his good friend, Joe Rabon in Columbia, South Carolina. Joe passed away on Wednesday, August 15th at the age of 62.  Joe was employed with the Sioux Falls School District, teaching at Axtell Park Middle School until his retirement. Joe was a faithful fan of Adrian Dragon sports, following all of the Loosbrock kids’ activities.  Blessed be his memory.

Nathan Wieneke, grandson of Jackie and the late Glenn Wieneke, has been hired at his alma mater, Murray County Central in Slayton.  Nathan will teach 4th grade, coach junior high boys basketball, and assist with the baseball program.  Nathan is the son of Troy and Connie (Fuerstenberg) Wieneke of Slayton. Congratulations, Nathan!
