Lismore News – Jan 25

A huge crowd attended the benefit for Mike & Melissa Einck on Sunday in Iona.  Carrie VanDyke and Ryan Bullerman of VanBully’s and their crew served up scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and biscuits & gravy for the morning bunch. Pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, and chips were on the menu for the lunch crowd.  There was an endless buffet of cinnamon rolls, cookies, and bars for those with a sweet tooth.  A variety of silent auction items including wine baskets, beer signs, benches, cosmetics, and much more went home with the highest bidders.  Mike & Melissa, their parents, and families greeted and visited with the guests upon arrival or as they departed.  The community wishes them good luck and sends many prayers as they head to Ann Arbor, MI to await the arrival of their new baby.

Kevin & Yig Lorang and John Pierre of Minneapolis were weekend guests in the home of his mother, Ruth Lorang.

Ruth was glad to see them and how much the little one had grown in the three weeks since she’d seen him last.  The Lorang’s had just returned from spending three weeks in Peru with Yig’s family for Christmas.

The community extends sympathy to the family of Milton Hebig.  Milton died January 19th at the age of 86.  Milton and his wife Marilyn farmed near Lismore where they raised their family.  Milton enjoyed hunting, fishing, farm sales, and his pets.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed fixing things, could converse with anyone, and had fun being sarcastic. Survivors include his children, Kevin, Marjie, John, Ginny, Laurie and Lisa.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Patty Thier; a grandson; three great-grandchildren and two brothers. God bless the memory of Milton Hebig.
