The American Legion, Sons of American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lismore Legion Hall followed by military services at the three cemeteries (St. Anthony, Lismore, and St. Anthony West).  Everyone is invited to a community potluck meal at the Legion Hall.

Congratulations to Nick Lorang, who is the recipient of the Earl Loebig Scholarship for 2016. The Scholarship is awarded to any future freshman, sophomore, or junior in college.  Fr. Beerman presented the scholarship to Nick at the Saturday evening Mass at St. Anthony’s last weekend.  Nick is the son of Mark & Janine Lorang.  He will be a senior at South Dakota State University where he is majoring in biology/pre-med.

Rick Lutmer of Omaha, NE and Rick & Linda Bartl of Aberdeen, SD were overnight guests in the Dave & Deb Lutmer home. They came especially to attend the graduation reception of their great-nephew, Michael Preuss, son of Tom & Christy of Adrian.  The “Omaha Rick” lent a helping hand with a carpentry project on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

At their regular May meeting, the American Legion Auxiliary installed new officers for the 2016-2017 year. Congratulations to President Roxanne Kemper and Vice President Karon Nagel.  Avis Stoffel and Roberta Wieneke will continue in their positions as Treasurer and Secretary.  Thank you to the outgoing President, Brenda Loosbrock.

Deb Lutmer attended the wedding of Kayla Davis and Steven Gruber at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, MN on Saturday afternoon.

Tom & Mary Krogman attended the graduation ceremony at Brandon Valley High School on Sunday.  Their grandson, Jason Vis, was one of the 225 students to receive a diploma.  Jason is the son of Scott & Janelle of Brandon, SD.  Congratulations, Jason!

Bruce & Brenda Loosbrock attended the commencement exercises at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. Stephen Loosbrock received his Master’s degree in Business Administration and Nichole Loosbrock earned her BS degree in Psychology.  Other attendees included Shelly Loosbrock and Stephen’s fiancé, Bethany Smith, who are both students at Benedictine and Anthony & Mary Jean DiGiovanni of Omaha, NE.
