Missed tackles story of the night
The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks used the running of Bentley Boike to run all over the Adrian Dragons winning this one 42 to 13. Adrian tackled very poorly all evening and never could stop the offense of the Blackjacks. Boike had 247 yards rushing on 26 attempts. Alex Swenson the quarterback for Dawson-Boyd complete 5 passes for 176 yards. All five completions were big ones and with poor tackling at the end.
Dawson-Boyd started the game with a 4 play drive that went 65 yards with Colton Husby capping off the drive with a one yard run. Joe Furter kicked the PAT and the Blackjacks led 7 to 0.
On Adrian’s 1st possession, Alex Loosbrock was picked off by Eli Weber. Dawson-Boyd took over on the Dragon 37 yard line and used two plays to score. Bentley Boike went 63 yards untouched for the score. Joe Furter kicked the PAT and Dawson-Boyd led 14 to 0.
Adrian picked up one first down on their next possession with Nick Harder rushing the ball for 11 yards. The Dragons punted and the Blackjacks took over on the 20 yard line. DB moved into Adrian territory and went for it on 4th and 2 but the pass fell incomplete.
