Love the rain. A lot of planting was done but a few more dry days wouldn’t hurt.

We spent the weekend at our granddaughter’s graduation from UNI in Cedar Falls, Iowa. We were sitting with  six thousand other people and it was very comfortable. Probably the only graduation of many  that wasn’t warm and stuffy. It’s about a four hour drive with only one road construction project. A very pleasant time.

It looks like if you are a Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump fan life is on track. There is a lot of good people that are in for a difficult time if those two aren’t your choice. The open seat on the Supreme Court will be decided by the next president which will keep people faithful to their party even if they dislike Clinton or Trump. There will be few wasted votes for fear of an off balance Supreme Court. The election is almost six months off and that leaves room for much gauging, scraping and kicking as the two candidates square off for the Primary Election in November. One can only hope a little sanity will shine thru in time.

A young man asked an old rich man how he made his money.

The old guy fingered his worsted wool vest and said, “Well, son, it was 1932. The depth of the Great Depression. I was down to my last nickel. “I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold the apple for ten cents.”

“The next morning, I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the entire day polishing them and sold them for 20 cents. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I’d accumulated a fortune of $1.37.”

“Then my wife’s father died and left us two million dollars.”
